Campus Partner: Commencement Office

Commencement is a time where we celebrate the accomplishments of WashU graduates. But how do we best convey the sense of pride surrounding the ceremony, and how can we build greater enthusiasm among our audiences?

Strategy

We have partnered with the Commencement Office to integrate the many communications surrounding Commencement. Our strategy is to reinforce the event’s meaning to its respective audiences, keeping them involved each step of the way.

To achieve this, we considered all things Commencement with a fresh perspective. Using the WashU brand as a guide, we incorporated dynamic photography, consistent font and design elements, and messaging that generates enthusiasm. We suggested new outreach ideas as well, such as a commemorative photo album, videos, the Class Acts web series featuring our students’ remarkable stories, and a comprehensive social media strategy.

This continuing collaboration has enhanced Commencement’s outreach by establishing something that’s easily recognizable, and that shares the great excitement and pride at the heart of this joyous occasion.

Digital

In addition to supporting the Commencement website, MarComm introduced Class Acts, a series featuring the outstanding accomplishments of our graduating students.

Video

The multimedia team at MarComm supports the event’s telecast, as well as producing short videos capturing the celebratory nature of the event, even when it rains.


Photography

Our photographers are on hand en force to capture the event’s many meaningful moments.
