Campus Partner: University Marketing & Communications
The goal of the Happenings project was to provide a new, central location to showcase what is happening at WashU. Two of the main objectives were to improve The Source events and highlight the Assembly series.
Strategy
The initial challenge in creating a unified Happenings resource was to identify the parameters required to describe and promote events across campus. Making it easy for partners to submit new events was essential to the success of this project. The MarComm team partnered with Localist Event Calendar Software to help store and serve up event information.
Digital
The digital team designed and built a website for users to browse all university events in an organized and engaging way. The site enables specific events to be highlighted while also giving a monthly view of the events across campus. A specific area is dedicated to the Assembly Series, which is Washington University’s signature lecture series.
